Weak Infiniti Blower? Get Expert Fix Tips & Costs

Hey everyone, having trouble with my 2012 Infiniti EX diesel (23658 KM). The AC/heater blower has become really weak and sometimes doesn't work at all. Had a not-so-great experience with my previous mechanic, so I'm a bit hesitant about where to take it. Has anyone dealt with a similar blower issue in their Infiniti? What was the actual problem and how much did the repair cost? Also, can anyone recommend a reliable mechanic who's good with Infinitis? Thanks in advance!

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2015 Infiniti QX50 diesel last winter. The blower started acting up weak airflow and occasionally complete failure. Turned out my blower motor was failing, and there was also some debris blocking the blower motor resistor. Got it fixed at the garage last month. They had to replace the blower motor and clean out the resistor. It wasn't a super serious repair, but definitely something you want to get checked soon because it can get worse and leave you without heat or AC completely. The job took about 2 hours. In my case, I caught it early enough before it completely died. If you wait too long, it could burn out the motor entirely and potentially damage other components. Just a heads up these symptoms are pretty typical for a failing blower motor in Infinitis. Get it checked while it's still partially working. Hope this helps!

Hey, thanks for sharing your experience! It's really helpful to hear from someone who had the same issue. I'm planning to get mine checked this week actually. Just wondering do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the whole repair? And has everything been working smoothly since then, or have you noticed any other issues pop up? I'm trying to get an idea of what to expect cost-wise and whether I should look out for any related problems.

Hey again! Just wanted to update you yes, everything's been working perfectly since I got it fixed! The total bill came to 365€ for replacing the blower motor, and I'm honestly so relieved I got it sorted. My QX50's AC and heating are now working like a charm full power and super quiet too. It's like having a new car! Haven't had any other related issues pop up since the repair, and it's been a few months now. The airflow is strong and consistent, which is exactly what you want. Looking back, I probably should've gotten it fixed sooner, but you know how it goes you keep putting these things off! If your symptoms are similar to what I had, you're probably looking at a similar repair and cost. Just make sure to get it done before it completely dies on you that's when it can get more expensive. Let me know how it goes with yours! Always happy to help a fellow Infiniti owner.

Wow, thanks so much for all the details! Just got back from the mechanic actually, and thought I'd update you on what happened with my car. Took it to AutoTech downtown they diagnosed it right away. Similar to your case, my blower motor was failing, but luckily no debris problems. Cost me around 340€, so pretty close to what you paid. They fixed it in about 2.5 hours, and I'm honestly amazed at the difference! The AC's blasting like it's brand new now can't believe I put up with that weak airflow for so long! Should've done this way earlier. The mechanic there was really straight-up about everything, so I think I've finally found a reliable place for my Infiniti. Really appreciate your help in pushing me to get this sorted. Feels great to have proper AC again! Thanks for sharing your experience it definitely made me feel more confident about getting it fixed.
