Hey at 62378 KM and with my latest service just completed, I doubt it's a DSC/ABS issue. I've noticed a very slight squeal when braking, especially in the mornings. No other symptoms that I can tell. I was thinking brake pads too since that squeal is usually a pretty good indicator, but wanted to check with you guys first before heading to the shop. Thanks for sharing your experience though definitely good to know about potential issues with the control unit!

Hey again! Yeah, with that squealing sound you mentioned, especially in the mornings, I'm pretty confident now that you're looking at worn brake pads. That's actually much better news than what I dealt with on my QX50! When I first got that warning light on mine, I also thought it was just the brake pads, but the symptoms were different no squealing at all in my case, just that annoying warning light and some weird ABS behavior. But in your case, that classic brake squeal is pretty much a dead giveaway. Just had my pads changed about 3 months ago, actually. Cost me around 200€ for all four wheels, parts and labor included. Way better than the control unit nightmare I had before! My mechanic showed me the old pads, and they were definitely due for replacement down to about 2mm. Quick tip from my experience with these Infinitis when you get them changed, make sure they use the OEM pads or at least high-quality alternatives. I tried cheaper ones once and regretted it they wore out super fast. Let us know how it goes when you get it checked out!

Thanks so much for the detailed info! That's really helpful, especially about sticking with OEM pads definitely don't want to cheap out and end up paying more in the long run. €200 sounds pretty reasonable too, much better than I was expecting. I've just booked my car in for next Tuesday at my local Infiniti dealer. Figure I might as well get it done properly since these brakes are pretty important! Really appreciate everyone's input on this it's always good to get some real-world experience before heading to the shop. I'll update the thread once it's sorted in case anyone else runs into the same issue. Cheers for all the help!

Hey there! I had a somewhat similar issue with my 2017 Infiniti QX50 diesel last year. I have some experience working on cars, but this one was beyond my skill level. My warning light turned out to be a faulty DSC/ABS control unit which is pretty rare, by the way. Had to take it to my trusted workshop, and they diagnosed it after running some tests. The fix wasn't cheap cost me about 1000€, but it solved the problem completely. Before jumping to conclusions though, could you tell us more about your car? What's the mileage? Are you experiencing any other symptoms like unusual brake behavior or noise? This info would help narrow down whether you're dealing with the same issue or just need new brake pads.
