Thanks for sharing your experience with the GPS antenna repair. This matches what I went through with my Taigo last month. Currently monitoring the GPS signal strength after the fix to ensure no interference issues pop up again. Quick question, do you recall roughly how much the repair cost in total? My workshop invoice seemed quite high for what appeared to be a straightforward car navigation system fix. Also curious if youve had any recurring GPS signal problems since getting it repaired? Noticed there was a technical service bulletin about moisture affecting the GPS module connections in some VW models, so wondering if this might become a wider issue for other owners too.

After getting the vehicle GPS system fixed at the workshop about 6 months ago, everything has worked perfectly with no signal drops. The repair cost was 200€ total, which included diagnosing the faulty GPS antenna and replacing the corroded wiring. Considering the specialized equipment needed to properly test the car electronics and GPS module connections, I feel the price was reasonable. The antenna repair resolved all connection issues and the navigation system has maintained strong satellite signals since then. Its definitely worth addressing GPS problems promptly through a qualified workshop to prevent moisture from causing more extensive damage to the car electronics over time. From what I understand, the technical bulletin about moisture issues has led to improved sealing on newer GPS antenna installations, so recurring problems should be less common on recently manufactured vehicles.

Thanks everyone for the insights. Just wanted to share my own repair experience after finally getting this sorted out. Took the car to a certified workshop last week and they confirmed the GPS antenna connection was indeed the culprit. The repair took about 3 hours and cost 180€, which covered new wiring and labor. They found corrosion in the main GPS antenna connector, similar to what others mentioned. The car GPS system is now working perfectly, full satellite signal and no more error codes. The technician showed me where moisture had gotten into the connection housing. They installed additional protective sealing around the vehicle GPS components to prevent future water damage. Pretty straightforward fix in the end, just needed the right diagnostic equipment to pinpoint the exact issue. Good to know this is a recognized problem with a proper solution. Will keep monitoring the GPS signal strength but so far everything is working as it should.

Had the same GPS signal loss issue on my VW T-Cross from 2020. The symptoms matched exactly, navigation system completely lost satellite connection and showed a general error message. The root cause was a defective GPS antenna connection where water had corroded the main connector. This is actually a known issue with some VW car electronics from that period. The GPS antenna itself was intact, but the wiring harness needed replacement since moisture penetration had damaged multiple connection points. The repair involved: Complete diagnostics of the GPS system, Removal of the headliner to access the antenna, Replacement of the wiring harness, Testing satellite connection strength, System recalibration It was a serious repair requiring specialized diagnostic equipment and about 4 hours of labor. The GPS signal strength returned to normal immediately after the fix. Would definitely recommend having this checked at an authorized workshop since proper diagnostic tools are essential for pinpointing the exact issue in the antenna system. Worth mentioning that attempting DIY fixes on modern car electronics can lead to additional complications due to the integrated nature of these systems.
