Hey, thanks for the tip! My Golf now has almost exactly 165432 km on the clock and nothing unusual was noticed at the last service. Maybe reading out the fault memory will really help. I'll have it done at the garage next week and then report back!

Hey, good luck then! With the mileage, it's quite possible that the fuel pump isn't working quite as it should. I only started to have problems with my Passat when I had reached around 175,000 km. Ultimately, however, every car is different. You're doing the right thing by having it read out. That also helped me a lot back then to identify the problem. In any case, keep us up to date, you'll see, we'll get it sorted!

Hi, thanks for the sympathy and the tips! Yes, you're right, every car is different and I hope I'm like you and the problem can be fixed with a fault memory readout. I'll take your advice to heart and I'll definitely keep you posted as soon as I know more. This community here is really great! Until then, keep your chin up and don't let it get you down!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2010 VW Passat. I'm not an expert, but I do know a bit about cars. The same symptoms as yours. I then went to my regular garage and they read out the fault memory. It turned out that the reason was incorrect software values for the fuel pump. They then readjusted it and the problem was solved for 45 euros. Maybe that could help you too? How many kilometers has yours already done and has it ever had similar problems? The more information you provide, the better we can help!
