The electrical connectors were damaged and the auto-leveling system had a faulty control module. Total repair came to 890€ including parts and programming. The mechanic showed me how the adaptive headlights now self-adjust correctly. Been driving for about 3 weeks since the fix and the lighting system works perfectly, no more unusual beam changes or warning lights. They also found and fixed some corrosion in the headlight wiring while doing the repair, which probably contributed to the original problem. Really glad I got it sorted with a shop that knew what they were doing this time. The repair took about 4 hours total, but the results were worth the wait. Much better experience than my previous attempts to get it fixed. The beams stay properly aligned now and the auto-leveling activates smoothly when needed.
