VW Crafter EV Dashboard Error Needs Urgent Diagnosis

Looking for advice on incomplete system readiness on my 2022 VW Crafter EV (68304KM). Onboard diagnostics keeps showing an error message in the speedometer cluster and storing error codes. Has anyone experienced similar issues with their EV? Need recommendations on whether this requires immediate attention or if the system just needs time to complete its checks. Also curious about typical repair costs if a mechanic visit is needed.

The incomplete system readiness on your VW Crafter EV sounds similar to what I encountered with my 2019 VW ID.3. The onboard diagnostics system often needs several complete drive cycles to establish proper readiness status, especially after battery service or system resets. When my vehicle displayed similar error codes, the issue stemmed from the power electronics module requiring recalibration. The system readiness monitors were not completing their self-tests properly. This caused persistent check engine notifications and affected the OBD readiness status. In my case, the repair required professional diagnostic testing and software updates at a certified service center. It turned out to be a significant issue affecting the battery management system, which needed immediate attention to prevent potential damage to the power electronics. Key points to consider: Drive the vehicle normally for at least 3-4 complete cycles, Ensure charging sessions are completed fully, Monitor if error codes persist after driving cycles, Have emissions test readiness checked with proper scanning tools, Schedule service if errors continue after several drive cycles If error codes persist after multiple drive cycles, professional diagnosis is recommended as it could indicate underlying issues with the electrical systems.

Thanks for sharing that experience. It helped me fix a similar issue on my VW. The car diagnostics showed the same error codes and the check engine light was constantly on. After the repair, everything has been working smoothly. Just wondering, how much did the service center charge you for fixing the power electronics module and doing the software updates? Also, have you experienced any other issues with the vehicle inspection readiness since the repair was done?

After getting the power electronics module checked at the service center, they found it only needed a computer reset and software update to fix the system readiness issue. The best part was there was no charge (0€) since it was covered under the vehicle's warranty program. The onboard diagnostics have been working perfectly since the repair. All drive cycles complete normally now, and the OBD readiness monitors show full completion. The check engine light hasn't returned, which confirms the calibration fixed the original problem. Its been several months and all vehicle inspection parameters remain stable. The system performs its checks without any error codes or warnings. When checking the diagnostics through an OBD scanner recently, everything showed normal operation of all monitored systems. Key benefits after the fix: Full completion of system readiness tests, No more error codes in diagnostics, Normal drive cycle completion, Clean OBD scan results, Stable vehicle performance

Thanks for the advice. I took my Crafter to the service center last week. The technician ran car diagnostics and found that the system readiness monitors needed recalibration. The computer reset only took about an hour and cost 120€. Since then, I have completed several drive cycles and the error codes have not returned. The exhaust system readings are now normal and all diagnostic checks complete successfully. The speedometer cluster is clear of any warning lights. Really glad I got this checked instead of waiting. The service tech mentioned ignoring these warnings could have led to more expensive repairs down the line. Now everything is running perfectly and I have peace of mind that all systems are working as they should.
