Troubleshooting for Opel Insignia 2018: Audio system and navigation system not working

Hey guys, I have a strange problem with my Opel Insignia (year of manufacture 2018, gasoline engine). The audio system no longer emits any sound and the navigation system no longer works either. I suspect that a limited function of the audio system could be the problem. Has anyone had similar experiences and can provide troubleshooting tips? How did you get this solved in the workshop and what was your experience? Thank you very much!

Hi, I have some experience in this area but am not a professional. Had a similar problem with my 2016 Opel Astra. The bass speaker was defective. I had it checked at my garage and they repaired it for 280 euros. Everything has worked perfectly since then. To give you precise advice, I would need to know whether your Insignia has any special audio or navigation system? What model number exactly? Without this info it is difficult to recommend exact troubleshooting steps. Hope this helps a little!

Thanks for the tip about the bass speaker, I'll definitely have that checked. I'd have to look up the exact model number, but as far as I know it's the standard audio system fitted in the 2018 Insignia. For information, my speedometer shows 100112 km and the last inspection was a few months ago, when everything still worked. I'll probably have to get an appointment at the garage. I hope it won't be too expensive. Thanks again!

Hey, no problem, always happy to help! The garage is definitely a good idea. I would recommend that you explain the symptoms to them first and ask them to check the audio system. It might also be helpful to mention the problem with the navigation system if it's related. In fact, my Astra had a similar problem, and it turned out that the audio system just needed to be restarted - a problem with its internal computer or something. So, try turning the car off completely for a few minutes and then restarting it. If this simple solution doesn't fix the problem, the next step would be to take it to the garage. The cost may vary depending on the exact problem found. But as you say, hopefully it won't be too expensive! Keep us posted here. Good luck!

Hello again! I tried the tip with the restart yesterday, but unfortunately without success. I made an appointment at my garage this morning to have the problem checked. I'll remember to explain everything in detail and also mention the navigation system. Thank you for your sympathy regarding the costs. I will definitely keep you updated here, maybe my experience will help others with similar problems. Getting ready for a joyride without my favorite tunes now. Thanks again and have a great weekend!
