Traviq Brake Light Switch Causes Multiple System Errors

Thanks for sharing your experience. Just had my service done at 125986KM and I checked everything you mentioned. The brake pedal feels fine and the fuses are good, but I still hear no click from the brake switch when pressing. I did notice some loose connections near the pedal assembly. Based on your feedback, I will try reseating the switch connector first before replacing any parts. If that does not fix both the brake lights and error messages, I will look into getting a new brake light switch. The tail light assemblies themselves appear undamaged, so hopefully its just the switch causing these brake system warnings.

Thanks for the update on your Traviq. Since you dont hear the clicking sound from the brake light switch when pressing the pedal, this strongly suggests the switch itself could be faulty. While loose connections can cause similar symptoms, the lack of the characteristic click points to a worn-out switch mechanism. After dealing with the same issue, I would recommend: 1. Clean the brake light switch connector pins 2. Check the wiring harness for any signs of wear 3. If problems persist, replace the switch (costs around 45€) When I replaced my switch, it solved both the electrical issue with the brake lights and cleared all error messages. Make sure to get an OEM quality part, as aftermarket switches can sometimes trigger false warnings in the electrical system. Just remember to disconnect the battery before working on any electrical components. The brake system is safety-critical, so if youre not completely confident about the repair, having a professional check it might be worthwhile. Let us know how the connector inspection and potential switch replacement works out.

Based on everyones advice, I went ahead and cleaned the connector pins today but didnt have any luck with just reseating the connections. The brake light switch still wasnt clicking and the electrical issues remained. After some more testing, I ordered an OEM brake light switch for 45€ and will be installing it this weekend. The lack of the clicking sound when pressing the brake pedal definitely confirms what others suggested about the switch being the likely culprit. I will make sure to disconnect the battery before starting the switch replacement. Since both the brake lights and system warnings appeared simultaneously, I am hopeful this will resolve all the electrical issues at once. Will update the thread once I complete the repair to confirm if the new switch fixes everything. Thanks for helping narrow down the problem and sharing your similar experiences with brake system problems.

I had a similar issue with my 2005 Sintra diesel last winter. Having worked on basic car maintenance tasks before, I have some experience with electrical issues. The brake pedal switch was showing similar symptoms, brake lights not working and error messages. After a thorough inspection, I discovered the issue was actually quite simple: the brake light switch connector had worked itself loose over time. This is a common issue with the automotive switch in these models. The fix was straightforward, I just needed to properly reseat and secure the switch connector under the brake pedal. Once done, both the brake system warnings and infotainment errors cleared up immediately. No parts or workshop visit needed. To help diagnose your specific case, could you provide: Does the brake pedal feel normal when pressed? Are you hearing any clicking sound from the switch when pressing the brake? Have you checked if the brake light fuses are intact? Did you notice any loose wiring around the brake pedal area? Cars in this series often share similar switch designs, so the fix might be equally simple. A quick check of these basic items could save you an unnecessary switch replacement.
