Hi guys! I have a problem with my 2019 Opel Crossland (gasoline engine, 167332 km run). When starting, there are always longer cold start times and sometimes it doesn't even start at all. There's also a strange engine noise, a low battery when starting and my lights are dimmed or flickering. A warning light in the speedometer is also illuminated. I suspect the problem has something to do with the engine starting, but after my last bad experience with the mechanic I'm a bit unsure. Have any of you had similar problems and can tell me what might be going on? What was your experience with the mechanic? Thanks and regards!

Hi, I had something similar with my 2016 Opel Astra (diesel engine). Same problem when starting, lights flickering and strange engine noises. It turned out that the problem was a consequential fault with the vehicle electrics. I don't work in a garage, but my mechanic checked numerous systems, including the engine, alternator and battery. It turned out that the fault was caused by problems with the ignition system. It's important to get your car to the mechanic as soon as possible, because a fault like this can cause serious damage if it's not fixed immediately. My car had to stay overnight, but afterwards it was back in top shape. Hope that helps a bit! Cheers!
