Visible damage? No obvious punctures, but could be a slow pressure loss. Valve issue – is that common, or just bad luck? Where was the air leak?

Well, I wouldn't say it's a common issue exactly, more like an occasional one. In my case, it turned out to be a faulty valve stem causing a slow air leak. It wasn't immediately obvious like a punctured tire would be. Given the symptoms you're describing, and without any visible signs of a flat tire, it's highly probable that you're experiencing a similar issue with pressure loss. Best bet would be to visit a workshop, they'll be able to confirm the source of the air leak and replace the valve stem if necessary.

Confirmed valve issue. Sorted at the shop for 280€. Thanks for the input.

Woah, sounds familiar! I had a similar experience with my Skoda Superb, though I can't recall the exact mileage at the time. Those symptoms – ABS light, steering wheel vibrations, and the heavy steering – are definitely concerning. Did you happen to check for any visible damage to the tire itself? Perhaps a nail or a screw?
