Interesting, connections seem fine, no visible damage. What was the fix on your Volvo? Was it a simple steering sensor replacement or something more involved? Did you also have to do a wheel alignment afterwards?

Yes, the Volvo needed a new steering sensor. Sensor failure caused similar issues – the electronic stability system was throwing errors and the steering felt off. Wheel alignment is recommended after sensor replacement, as it ensures everything is calibrated correctly. Is it definitely the sensor? If the symptoms are consistent, I would advise going to a workshop.

Took the Skoda to a local workshop. The steering angle sensor was indeed defective, likely the coding as suspected. Sensor replacement and a wheel alignment later, and the electronic stability is back online. Total cost was 195€. Thanks for the advice, it was spot on!

Sounds familiar. Had similar issues with my older Volvo, though symptoms varied a bit. Did you check the sensor connections or any recent work done around the steering components?
