Fuel rail pressure, you say? How did you test for that pressure drop? And where is the fuel pressure regulator located in the Roomster? I changed the fuel filter recently, that's when the problems started.

I didn't test the pressure myself, I took it to a workshop. They told me the fuel pressure regulator was the culprit, and that it could be related to the new filter causing a spike or some other issue in the fuel system. If the problems started right after the filter change, that's a big clue. Maybe take it to someone who can check the fuel pressure properly? Could save you a lot of time and wasted fuel efficiency.

Turns out it was the fuel pressure regulator. I replaced it myself for about 45€. The engine runs smoothly now, and the check engine light is off.

I had a similar issue with my Roomster a while back. Check engine light, stalling at idle, felt like I was towing a boat uphill. Have you checked the fuel rail pressure? Might be a pressure drop somewhere in the fuel system. I'd also look at the fuel filter, maybe it's clogged or damaged. A bad fuel filter can definitely mess with the fuel regulator.
