Skoda Roomster ABS Fault Lateral Sensor

My 2009 Skoda Roomster with a gasoline engine has an ABS safety warning light. Diagnostics say it's a lateral sensor fault. ABS and electronic stability aren't working. Mileage is 196144 km. Seems like the control unit is defective. Any ideas?

I had similar ABS/traction control issues on my old Volvo V70. The yaw rate sensor was faulty. Do you have any stored fault codes related to yaw rate or lateral acceleration?

Yaw rate? Is that the same as the lateral sensor? The error code points to the lateral acceleration sensor specifically.

It could be called either, or both. If the code specifies the lateral acceleration sensor, it's likely that. Given the symptoms and fault code, and my experience, it probably does need replacing. A workshop visit might be your best bet.

Garage confirmed lateral sensor fault. A new control unit is needed, costing around 1000€. Thanks for the advice.
