Skoda Praktik massage seat not working

I'm having a weird issue with my 2010 Skoda Praktik. It's got a gasoline engine. The massage function in the seat isn't working. Basically, I can't turn it on at all. I took it to a shop and they said there's an error stored, and the likely cause is a defective cable or plug connection. They quoted me 95€ for the repair. I'm not sure if I should try to fix it myself, because I do not want to damage the car upholstery. Has anyone else had this kind of switch failure with their luxury car massage seats?

That's interesting. I had a similar problem with the massage setting in my Volvo a while back. The automotive seats just wouldn't respond. Did you check the fuses? Sometimes it's something simple like that.

Thanks for the suggestion! I didn't check the fuses yet, I will do that tomorrow. But the error memory says something about a defective cable or plug connection. Could it still be the fuse even if there's a specific error message?

Okay, if you already have a specific error pointing to the cable or plug, it's less likely to be the fuse, though it's always good to double-check. In my case, the Volvo's issue was also a bad connection in the end. Honestly, messing with car upholstery can be a pain. If they've already diagnosed it and the price seems fair, 95€ might be worth avoiding the hassle, but it's up to you.

I got the massage seat switch fixed! It cost 95€, like they said. It was a faulty connection, as suspected. Thanks again for your help!
