Skoda Octavia Cruise Control Problem

I have a 2016 Skoda Octavia with a diesel engine and almost 200000 km. Recently, the cruise control stopped working. When I try to activate it, nothing happens. There's an error stored, but I can't read it myself. Any ideas what the issue could be before I visit the workshop? Perhaps something to do with the throttle position?

I had a similar problem with my Octavia. I'd suggest checking the pedal switch and the connections around the steering wheel. A failing speed sensor can also cause cruise control issues. Have you checked the fuse box?

Thanks for the quick response. Where is the pedal switch located exactly? And which fuse should I check in the fuse box? Is there a specific fuse for cruise control?

The pedal switch is near the pedals, make sure the connection is secure. As for the fuse box, check the manual for the cruise control or engine management fuse. In my case, it was a defective plug connection. I'd still recommend a workshop diagnosis.

The workshop traced it to a faulty cable and plug connection, just as you thought. They repaired it, and the cruise control is now functional. The repair set me back 95€, but it's sorted. Thanks for the guidance!
