Skoda Octavia Air Suspension Problems

My 2009 Skoda Octavia – gasoline engine, nearly 200000 km – is throwing a proper hissy fit. The air suspension has totally given up the ghost. The rear end is practically scraping the ground, the front is pointing skyward, and the dashboard is lit up like a Christmas tree Error messages galore, saying something about suspension failure. Plugged it into a diagnostic tool, and it's screaming "compressor failure". Now, I've read that it could just be a dodgy connection somewhere. Has anyone else battled with this air suspension gremlin Before I shell out a fortune, any ideas where to start poking around If not, the low beam shines far too down or up, and that's a problem

That sounds like a classic suspension system malfunction. First thing I'd check are the basics: any obvious air leaks around the air springs themselves Also, carefully inspect the wiring and connections to the air suspension compressor. A loose or corroded connection could definitely cause that error.

Air leaks I can look for, but when you say 'wiring and connections,' are there any spots in particular on that compressor that are known for being troublesome And what does "air spring" mean

Okay, an "air spring" is basically the air-filled bag that replaces a normal spring in your suspension. As for specific spots, check the main power connector to the compressor and the signal wires going to the control module. Focus on looking for corrosion or loose pins. Given the error code and your description, a defective cable or plug connection of the component is the most likely cause.

Huge thanks I checked all the connections again like you suggested, and wouldn't you know it, one of the plugs going to the compressor was loose. Gave it a proper push, secured it, and the whole system is working again. 95€ at the workshop saved You're a lifesaver
