Skoda Kodiaq Height Control Restricted Error

My 2021 Skoda Kodiaq with a gasoline engine is showing a "Height control restricted" error. The warning light is on, the low beams are misaligned, and the car is uneven. Also, the ride is rougher. Scanning the error memory points to a defective control rod on the sensor. Has anyone else had this issue?

Height control issues on a Kodiaq often relate to the adaptive suspension or leveling system. The symptoms you describe along with the error code suggest a faulty ride height sensor or related parts. The leveling system depends on these sensors to keep the correct ride height, and a bad sensor can cause these issues. With the mileage on your Kodiaq, have you inspected the wiring and connectors to the leveling sensor? A corroded connector could be the cause. Also, are the air struts in good shape? Any signs of leaks or damage?

Thanks for the advice. Where are the leveling sensors located, and can I test them before replacing parts?

Given the error code pointing to a defective control rod on the leveling sensor, that's likely the cause. The sensors are usually near each wheel hub. A multimeter can check the sensor's resistance, but accurate diagnosis often needs specialized equipment to read the sensor's output as the suspension moves. Consulting a technician might be wise. Replacing the control rod isn't usually too expensive, but calibrating the leveling system afterward is important for headlight alignment and suspension performance. A workshop visit might be needed.

Just a quick note the control rod on the leveling sensor was the problem. A replacement cost 110€ and the error is now cleared. The ride height is normal again, and the headlights are correctly aligned. Thanks for the guidance.
