Skoda Kodiaq cruise control malfunction

I am seriously frustrated. The cruise control on my 2021 Skoda Kodiaq with a gasoline engine has stopped working. It just doesn't engage at all. I scanned for errors and there's an error stored in the error memory. The error message points to a defective cable or plug connection. I checked the basics but can't find anything obvious. Anyone else had this issue?

First thing, did you check the fuses? A blown fuse is a common culprit. Also, any other dashboard lights on? Does the speed sensor work? If the car doesn't know how fast you're going, cruise control won't engage. Have you had any work done near the steering wheel recently?

I had a look at the fuse box, but honestly, I'm not sure which fuse is for the cruise control. The manual isn't very clear. And no, no other dashboard lights are on. As far as I know, the speed sensor is working fine, the speedometer displays the speed correctly. No work has been done on the steering wheel recently. Any ideas?

Okay, if the speedo is working, the speed sensor is likely fine. The fact that there's an error code pointing to a cable/plug and the fuse is okay points to a deeper electrical gremlin. You'll probably need a multimeter and wiring diagrams to properly diagnose. Unless you're comfortable with that, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. They can trace the wiring and pinpoint the exact location of the fault.

Just got the car back. You were spot on! It was a defective cable/plug connection as the error memory said. 95€ later and cruise control is working again! Thanks a million for your help!
