Skoda Karoq Start Stop Problem

I'm having trouble with the start-stop system in my 2017 Skoda Karoq, diesel. An error is stored, and the engine shuts off with a warning light. I think it could be a bad battery. Has anyone else seen this?

I had a similar issue with my Karoq. The start-stop quit, and it was the battery. Did you check your starter motor? Is the car struggling to restart? It might be worth a look.

About your battery issue, was the error always there? What were the specific codes? Was it just a dead battery or something else?

The error was always there. I didn't get the fault codes. The shop said the battery wasn't holding charge. I'd suggest getting the battery load tested. If it's weak, you probably need a new one.

Diagnosis confirmed a defective car battery. Replacement and labor cost 290€. Start-stop is working again.
