Hey, thanks for your answer! Unfortunately, that sounds very familiar. Can I ask how much you paid for the repairs? And did anything else turn up afterwards or did you have any other problems? Best regards!

Hey, sure, no problem. Since I've been to the mechanic, the "engine may not start" problem has actually been fixed. The fault was caused by a subsequent fault in the vehicle's electrical system, and the repair cost me €0 because it was fortunately covered by a goodwill arrangement. I had no further problems after that. You should definitely go to a garage that knows Skoda well, like I did. The correct diagnosis is the be-all and end-all. I hope this helps you! Best regards!

Hey, that sounds good that it went under goodwill with you. I'll definitely keep an eye out for a specialized workshop. Do you happen to have a garage in the Munich area that you can recommend? Incidentally, it certainly wouldn't be under goodwill in my case, but I hope it won't be too expensive. I'll have the battery checked first and then see what happens. Your tips are definitely helpful, thank you! Thanks again and best wishes!

Hey, I had similar problems with my 2016 Skoda Octavia (petrol), so very similar symptoms. In my case, it was also a fault in the vehicle electrics caused by a subsequent fault. The problem was quite serious and it turned out that the control unit was faulty. In addition, several wiring harnesses had to be checked and in some cases replaced because they were sending faulty signals. The first thing you should do is have the battery checked, sometimes that's enough, although your symptoms are more likely to indicate something more serious. In my case, the starter motor was also affected and had to be replaced. It was a major operation overall, but everything ran smoothly again afterwards. I'd advise you to go to a garage that has specialist knowledge of Skoda. Sometimes independent garages don't have the necessary specialist knowledge. Good luck!
