Skoda Karoq Engine Start Problem

I'm in a bit of a panic! My 2021 Skoda Karoq with a gasoline engine is playing up big time. Sometimes it won't engine start at all. Other times, the engine shuts off while I'm driving, and sometimes it runs really rough. Is it a dodgy ignition switch? This is driving me nuts!

Sounds like a similar issue I experienced. Does the starter motor even attempt to crank when you turn the ignition key? If not, it could be a problem with the car electronics related to the ignition switch itself. A defective fuse can cause the problems you describe. Consider that a car's electrical system is like a complex road network; if one road (fuse) is blocked, it can cause traffic jams (malfunctions) elsewhere.

The starter motor doesn't even try to crank, nope. Where exactly did you find the fuse, and what number was it? Any idea?

Yes, my symptoms were identical. I suggest checking the fuses related to the car electronics and engine start. While I can't provide specifics, the repair ended up costing around 52€. If checking the fuses doesn't solve it, it's best to have a workshop take a look, as it might be a more complex starting issue.

Wow, you nailed it! It was just a fuse! Replaced it myself, cost me like 5€. Engine start is perfect again. Thanks a million!
