Skoda Karoq engine running unevenly

Hi, I have a 2018 Skoda Karoq with a gasoline engine and about 46368 km on the clock. Recently, the engine has started running unevenly, and the check engine light is now on. I'm also experiencing jerking when accelerating. Could this be related to fuel injectors?

Uneven running and a check engine light on your Karoq could be a few things. The jerking makes me think it's probably not just the air filter. Has the timing belt ever been changed? Although it's probably not that with those km, it's worth checking if it's due soon. Could be ignition coil trouble too. Have you scanned the error memory to see what codes are popping up?

I did scan the error memory and there was a code related to the fuel mixture being off. You mentioned ignition coil. Could that cause the fuel mixture to be off? Or is it more likely something with the fuel injectors or fuel pump?

A fuel mixture code along with jerking does suggest a fuel delivery or air intake issue. While a faulty ignition coil could contribute, the mixture code leans more toward fuel injectors or a leak in the exhaust system before the catalytic converter which could affect the readings. A fuel pump issue is less likely unless you're also experiencing difficulty starting or stalling. Given all the symptoms, it really needs a proper diagnosis. I would suggest visiting a workshop.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a local shop, and they found a small leak in the exhaust manifold. They quoted 265€ to fix it, which I approved. Runs like new now. They also mentioned that while the air filter was ok, it was due for a replacement soon.
