Skoda Karoq Diesel Engine Issues

I'm starting to get really frustrated. My 2018 Skoda Karoq with a diesel engine is giving me headaches. It has 93199 km on it. I'm experiencing reduced engine power, a warning light is constantly on, and it's starting poorly. The lights are flickering too. The error memory says something about the generator. Could it really be a defective generator? Could this also cause issues with the starter motor or the serpentine belt?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Skoda Karoq. Reduced power and all those warning lights. Have you checked the charging system?

You had the same symptoms? Charging system... what exactly did you check? Was it a simple fix, or did you need a full alternator replacement?

Yes, those were the exact symptoms. I'm no expert, but the workshop confirmed it was the alternator. They mentioned something about the charging system not working correctly. In the end, I needed an alternator replacement. I suggest taking it to a workshop to get it checked properly.

Big thanks for sharing your experience! Turns out it was exactly the generator. Had to get the alternator replaced, which set me back 960€. Ouch! But at least the Karoq is running smoothly again.
