Skoda Kamiq Overheating Issue

I've got a problem with my 2022 Skoda Kamiq with a gasoline engine. It has 218805 km on the clock. The check engine light came on, and the engine is overheating. I suspect it's the active air flap. The probable cause is that the electromechanism is defective. Any ideas?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my Kamiq. The car overheating and the check engine light were definitely worrying. Did you get a fault code? For me, it pointed to the active air flap being stuck. It turned out to be the flap motor.

Yes, the fault code also mentions the active air flap. How long ago did you have this problem, and did you replace the flap motor yourself?

Yeah, the fault code pretty much confirmed it for me too. I didn't replace it myself – I'm not that mechanically inclined. I took it straight to a workshop. They confirmed it was the flap motor and replaced it. Probably best to get it checked by a professional to be sure, especially with the overheating.

Took it to the shop today. They confirmed it was the flap motor and replaced it. The final repair cost was 590€. Car's running fine now, no more overheating and the check engine light is off.
