Skoda Kamiq Coolant Level Warning

Alright, I'm officially stumped and hoping someone can lend a hand. My 2019 Skoda Kamiq with a diesel engine is throwing a "coolant level too low" warning. The check engine light is on, and the error memory has stored a fault. I've read that the likely cause is a defective cable or plug connection. Before I start tearing things apart, has anyone else experienced this? I'm worried about potential air pockets and engine overheating, especially since I can't visually spot any obvious coolant leak near the radiator hoses. Any thoughts?

Low coolant on a Kamiq? Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Skoda (not sure which year, but also a Kamiq) a while back. The check engine light would pop on intermittently. I'd check the usual suspects first: radiator hoses for any obvious leaks, and keep an eye on the temperature gauge to make sure you're not getting any engine overheating. Have you checked the cooling fan is kicking in as it should?

Interesting. Did the error message specifically point to the coolant level sensor, or did you have to do some digging? Also, did you notice any coolant leak around the engine?

The error message was pretty vague, something generic about the cooling system. No visible coolant leak at all, which was weird. It turned out to be a faulty connection to the sensor, as you suspected. I'd say it's worth having a workshop check the wiring and connections before anything else. Could save you a lot of time and effort.

Took it to the workshop, and you were spot on! It was indeed a defective plug connection to the coolant level sensor. 95€ later, and the Kamiq is back to normal. Thanks for the help!
