Interesting. You mentioned similar issues with your Opel Insignia. Can you elaborate on what eventually resolved the problem in your case? Did it also involve the automatic transmission control unit, or was it something else entirely?

In my case, the diagnostic pointed to a faulty sensor within the automatic transmission system. While it wasn't the control unit itself, the symptoms were remarkably similar. Considering the error code and the issues you're describing, a visit to a specialized workshop seems advisable. They can perform a thorough inspection and pinpoint the exact cause, especially considering the potential involvement of the shift lock mechanism.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I took your advice and visited a workshop. The diagnosis confirmed a defective control unit which affects the automatic transmission's parking position. The repair, including parts and labor, came to approximately 1000€. Now everything works as expected.

That does sound frustrating. I experienced similar transmission issues with my 2018 Opel Insignia, although it wasn't the park brake specifically. The gearbox would slip occasionally, and the check engine light illuminated intermittently. Did you notice any unusual noises accompanying the shifting problems? Have you checked the gear linkage for any obvious obstructions?
