Skoda Fabia Cruise Control Problem

Thanks for the quick response! I did check the fuse box, and all fuses seem to be intact. Regarding the speed sensor, is there a way to test it without specialized equipment? Is it possible that a faulty throttle position sensor could also be the culprit?

Given that you've checked the fuses and the error points to a cable or plug issue, I wouldn't recommend further testing without proper tools. Speed sensors can be tricky, and a throttle position sensor issue would usually present with other symptoms. It does sound like the error memory entry is a good indication of the actual problem. Given your efforts, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. They will have the tools to properly diagnose the wiring and pinpoint the fault.

Took the Fabia to the workshop. They found a defective cable/plug connection, as indicated by the error memory. 95€ later, the cruise control is working again. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

The cruise control issue on your Skoda Fabia sounds frustrating. Given the error memory stores an issue, it's not likely a simple fix. Before assuming the worst, have you checked the fuse box? A blown fuse is an easy thing to overlook and could disable the cruise control. Also, consider the speed sensor; a faulty reading there can certainly cause the cruise control to disengage or not activate at all. Though, it's admittedly less likely to trigger a generic 'cable/plug' error.
