Skoda Fabia AC Issues

My 2023 Skoda Fabia with a gasoline engine is having AC problems. The air conditioning no longer cools, and the system doesn't switch on. There's a warning light on the speedometer, and an error is stored in the error memory. I suspect it might be the AC control unit, but I'm not sure.

That sounds like a compressor failure. I had a similar issue with my Fabia. Have you checked for any refrigerant leak? A leak can cause the compressor to fail.

How did you check for a refrigerant leak? What exactly was the problem with your car air conditioning?

Yes, my AC stopped cooling suddenly. A garage diagnosed it as a faulty compressor and also found a refrigerant leak. It's best to take it to a workshop; they have the tools to properly diagnose car air conditioning issues.

Thanks for the help. The workshop confirmed it was the AC control unit. It cost 980€ to get it fixed, but at least the cooling system is working again.
