Skoda Citigo Oil Pressure Warning Light

Good morning, I am writing to you because I am experiencing a warning light in the speedometer of my Skoda Citigo from the year 2020 with a Gasoline engine. Additionally, an error is stored in the error memory, and the oil pressure warning lamp lights up intermittently. Could the issue be related to the engine oil temperature sensor? I suspect that the cable or plug connection of the component might be defective. Has anyone else experienced similar problems?

I had a similar issue with my Citigo. The oil pressure light kept coming on intermittently. Have you checked the oil level itself? Sometimes a slightly low level can trigger the sensor. It is like when your phone shows low battery when it still has some charge left.

Thanks for your reply. I checked the oil level, and it seems to be correct. Is there any other area, besides the oil level, where the issue was in your case?

Yes, in my case, the fault was indeed related to the temperature sensor. I would recommend visiting a workshop to get it checked. They can accurately diagnose the problem and replace the sensor if needed. It's better to address it sooner rather than later to avoid potential engine damage.

Thank you for your help. As you suggested, I visited a workshop, and the diagnosis confirmed a defective cable connection to the engine oil temperature sensor. The repair cost me 95€, and the issue is now resolved.
