Skoda Citigo Door Lock Problem

I'm having a strange issue with my 2012 Skoda Citigo with a Gasoline engine. Suddenly, I can no longer lock or unlock the vehicle doors. Could this be a problem with the door sensor? I've read it might be a defective cable or plug connection of the component. Any ideas?

This sounds familiar. I also own a Citigo and experienced something similar not too long ago. The vehicle doors suddenly wouldn't respond to the automatic locks. It was quite alarming.

Yes, the car alarm is also going off randomly, which is incredibly annoying. Was it definitely the door sensor in your case, and how was it resolved?

The random car alarm plus the vehicle doors refusing to lock automatically definitely points to the door sensor. It's likely a problem with the wiring harness. I wouldn't mess with it unless you really know what you're doing. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop.

The door sensor issue is now resolved. A workshop visit revealed a faulty cable connection, just as suggested. The fix cost 95€, but the automatic locks and car alarm are functioning correctly again. Thanks for the assistance.
