Hey, thanks for the quick response! You guessed it right, my Seicento is pretty similar to your Panda, in fact, I find them to be near-identical twins. My Fiat is manual and I recently clocked 58551 km on it, but still purrs like a kitten. As for the servicing bit, I just had it done recently. No major parts were replaced though. However, looking at your insight, it does seem like the ABS control unit might need a look. Kinda sucks that the potential fix might set me back a bit but hey, as long as it resolves the problem, right? I'll be dropping it off at my local garage soon, thanks for the heads up!

Hey, glad I could help! Our twins sound quite similar indeed. Mine was also purring steady around that mileage when this ABS issue popped up out of the blue. We have to keep our old pals in check, huh? Given your recent servicing and no major parts replaced recently, it does quite sound like it's the ABS control unit acting up. Don't be surprised if your mechanic backs this up. And yeah, it does put you out a bit, but it would be worse if it failed completely, especially in rainy or snowy weather when you need it the most. Safety first always, my! Keep me posted once you have it checked out. Would be interesting to know if it mirrors my experience. Good luck at the garage and I hope they don't put a big dent in your wallet!

Haha, you're so right. Important to keep these old pals running smooth, ain't it? Besides, I love my Fiat way too much to let it down. I completely agree with you. Better to be safe than sorry, especially when the whether turns grim. Your suggestions really helped me manage my expectations and I'll brace myself for the potential spending when I drop my Fiat to the garage. Will surely keep you posted about the progress. Appreciate that you took the time to share your experience and give me some advice. Here's hoping my wallet survives after the fix! Cheers!

Hey there, I can totally relate to your issue. I have a 2006 Fiat Panda, close cousin to your Seicento! I'd rate my car expertise as low but I managed to get my issue fixed. This exact thing happened to me. The culprit was indeed the ABS control unit that had gone defective. I took my car to the local workshop and the mechanics diagnosed the problem being with the ABS control unit. They ended up replacing it and it cost me around 1000€. It was a bit painful on the wallet but it solved the issue completely and the ABS light turned off. However, each car can be a bit different. Can you share more about your Fiat? Specifically mileage, recent services or parts replaced and is it manual or automatic? This can help me give you more precise advice. Hope this helps!
