Hey there, Your encounter sounds eerily similar to what's happening with my Picanto right now. A faulty cable connection or plug seems like a logical problem to my problem, too. Thanks for the heads up. It's comforting to know this won't be another "sell your soul" kind of fix, although it does sound like a complex repair job. However, now I'm left wondering - do you remember about how much you ended up shelling out for the cable and plug replacements? Also, has anything related crept up on your Sportage since the fix? Thanks for your time. Appreciate your insights. Cheers!

Hey bud, I'm glad my previous experience could shed some light on your situation, it's always good to have a bit of a heads up, isn't it? If memory serves me right, I had to part ways with about 155€ for the whole cable and plug replacement job. I must say, though, it was worth every penny considering I had no more issues with the steering post-fix. Straight up since the mechanic got his hands on my Sportage, that pesky Electric Power Steering Signal error was no more, giving me some much-needed peace of mind. Of course, different mechanics might charge differently and all that, but you're probably in the same ballpark amount-wise. Stay safe and let us know how it goes with your Picanto. Fingers crossed it's as straightforward for you as it ended up being for me. Cheers!

Hey! It's a huge relief to hear from someone who's been through the same mess. Your input definitely brings a ton of clarity to this situation. If it's about 155€ to sort out this power steering fright show and keep the warning lights at bay, then I reckon it's money well spent. Of course, I'm keeping fingers crossed about the variance in mechanic prices, but if it's anywhere around that figure I'll have a sigh of relief. Posting a triumphant update once my Picanto is back to normal is on the cards. Cheers for being such a life-saver, stay safe and take care! Hope my steering wheel stops thinking it's a spin class instructor soon, haha!

Hey! I've been through something similar with my 2018 Kia Sportage. The issues were pretty much the same, ABS/DSC went completely bonkers, steering felt like wrestling a crocodile, and the dashboard was lit up with warning signs. Turns out it was the cable connection/plug connection that was defective. Our guess wasn't far off yours it was indeed about the electrical power steering signal error. Had to get new cables and plugs fitted in, wasn't a straightforward job I must admit. It wasn't a major, get rid of your car serious issue, but just make sure you get it sorted or otherwise, it could lead to bigger problems down the road. Don't worry too much. Hope that's helpful, all the best with it!
