Seeking Advice on Troubleshooting Oil Pressure System Issues and Engine Noise in 2022 Renault Arkana

Hey everyone, I've got a bit of a weird issue with my 2022 Renault Arkana, Gasoline edition. The oil light is constantly on, and I'm hearing strange sounds like valve adjustment noise and other engine oddities. Plus, pretty sure I spotted metal shavings in the oil which is never good! I'm guessing there's some sort of malfunction happening within the oil pressure system, but I'm stumped on exactly where to look for troubleshooting. Has anyone else come across this issue with their Arkana or any other car for that matter? How did you end up fixing it in your workshop? Would love to hear any tips or experiences you guys might have. Thanks in advance!

Hey! I faced a similar issue with my 2020 Renault Kadjar, petrol variant. I'm definitely not an auto whiz, but I've got some experience up my sleeve. Brought it to my local workshop figuring oil pressure malfunction too. Turned out to be Oil pump defect in mine. Cost me 755 euro. Hurts the pocket, but got the bugger fixed. That said, every problem is unique, and information is key. To help you out better, mind sharing more about how your Arkana's been behaving lately? Stuff like mileage, any recent replacements or services? Every bit helps!

Hey there, appreciate the swift response! Yeah, I was also thinking along similar lines with the oil pump defect. Bummer about the €755 hit, but glad to hear your Kadjar's back on the road! My Arkana's just reached 177596km. I like to keep it well-tuned, so I've been pretty consistent with regular services. The last round was a while back though, haven't gotten around to it since then seeing as it's running pretty great otherwise. But yikes, this oil issue came out of the blue. I'll have my local guys give the oil pump a check, and keep fingers crossed that it doesn't burn a hole in my pocket!

Hey, good to hear back from you! It certainly does sound like your Arkana's been pretty well taken care of. That said, even the best of us can't forestall every issue, can we? Like you've mentioned, the oil pump is a likely culprit given the symptoms you've described. It's definitely what it was for me and my Kadjar. Just brace yourself though, oil pump replacements do tend to be a bit heavy on the pocket. Based on your mileage, it could also be worth paying some attention to the engine parts as a whole. Metal shavings in the oil tend to suggest some wear-and-tear, and it's quite possible that some part or the other's reached its end. A problem in the valve train or the camshaft could give rise to the weird noises you've been hearing. As for the oil light, once the pressure issue is solved, it should go off. If it doesn't, you might want to have your oil sensor checked too. The most important piece of advice I can give you though, don't delay it. These issues tend to get worse with time. Send your Arkana to your trusty fellows at the local workshop as soon as you can. Good luck and keep us posted!

Sure thing! The oil pump seems to be the first suspect here, for sure. I'll be hauling my Arkana off to the workshop soon. Thanks for lending me your two cents. Kind reminder, car problems can be snoozing dragons, huh? Will definitely think about checking out the engine parts and the oil sensor too. Your advice is like a pinch of salt to a recipe- might not seem much, but WOW, does it make a difference. Will keep you posted on the updates. Good day to ya!
