Hey there, Wow, got to say your experience resonates quite a deal with mine. Cable connections? Now that's something I hadn't thought about. Honestly, kind of a relief to hear your issue wasn't something compounding. Before I rush off to my mechanic with this new theory, could you do me a solid? I wonder if you remember what it set you back to get those dodgy cables fixed? And have you noticed anything problematic since it was sorted or has it been smooth sailing? Thanks and cheers!

Hey, Good to hear back from you! I know having car issues isn't fun, but you sound like you're keeping your spirits up! To answer your question, getting the cable connections spruced up set me back 155€. Not the cheapest afternoon I've had, but in the grand scheme of car repair costs, it didn't leave me wincing too much. Since getting it sorted, it's been almost like having a new car. None of the black smoke or engine stutters, and no unwelcome check engine light parties. All that was cleared up. And your instincts about the fuel pressure sensor could be right too. I had a similar hunch last time I had issues and you know what, the mechanic was able to sort it out. So that might be part of your car's snafu as well. All in all, my ride's been purring along nicely since I saw the mechanic. Hopefully, yours will be back on track soon too. Cheers!

Hey again, Thanks for getting back and sharing the cost break-up. Glad to hear your car's running smooth as silk now. Cheers to that! Your past hunch with the fuel pressure sensor situation is giving me some confidence about my own diagnosis. Above all, hearing how an adept mechanic could fix that sensor glitch has put me at ease. The engine light, smoke, and all other issues seem to be intertwined and perhaps, treating the root cause might put these worries to rest. Your advice has been really useful. I'm gonna have a chat with my mechanic about the cables and the fuel pressure sensor and see how it goes. Appreciations for sharing your experience and reassuring words. Stay tuned, and I'll soon bring the news of a happy and revitalized ride! Cheers!

Hey, I run a 2018 Renault Megane, petrol model, and reckon I've driven it around 98,000 km so far. Interestingly, I had to tackle a similar challenge a while back. The whole engine was acting like a stubborn mule, and trust me, the check engine light loves to have a glowing party even when it's not invited. I was pulling my hair out seeing those ominous black clouds after hitting the accelerator, not to mention the poor fuel economy giving me nightmares! Scary stuff. Turns out, it was my cable connections causing all the ruckus. The technician found them in pretty bad shape, defective to be exact. Even though we might want to believe in our cars as our never-dying steeds, sometimes they need a bit more care than we think. On your fuel pressure sensor suspicion, it could very well be that. Worth bringing that up with your mechanic next time you swing by the garage. But remember, sometimes the simple things we overlook can cause the biggest headaches. So yeah, from my experience, it could be your cable connections giving you grief. Not a laughing matter but nothing you'll lose sleep over once it's sorted. Hope this helps! Cheers!
