Hey, thanks for your suggestion! I actually did have the brake fluid flushed as part of the routine service a couple of months ago when my Touran hit 55000 KM. Maybe something did go wrong then, huh. And, yep, you're right, better safe than sorry, especially with the kiddos on board. I'm gonna have it looked over at my local garage soon. I'll let you know how it goes. Cheers!

Hi! Ah, there might just be the connection. I'd bet they could've made an error while bleeding the brakes after the fluid change. That could explain the spongy brake pedal and the warning lights. I'd recommend getting your Touran over to the garage ASAP. It’s definitely not something you’d want to put off, especially if it's your family vehicle. Better to be safe on the road, right? And remember to ask them to double-check the brake fluid level and whether there are any air bubbles in the system. They could also do a thorough run of the ABS and DSC system just to be on the safe side. It cost me only 90 Euro and it should be in the same ballpark for you. Hope this helps. Keep us posted! Safe driving!

Cheers for your quick and detailed advice! Definitely taking it to the garage first thing tomorrow. I'll make sure to remind 'em to check all these things – brake fluid level, air bubbles, and the ABS and DSC systems. You probably just saved me a lot of trouble. Really appreciate it! And sure thing, I'll keep you posted. Thanks again, and safe driving to you too!

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2014 VW Passat. I have some experience working with cars but I'm nowhere near a pro. Turns out my problem was down to the brake system being incorrectly bled. Dropped it off at my trusted local workshop, and they sorted it out for me. Ended up costing me 90€, but considering it's a safety issue, definitely worth it. Have you recently replaced your brake fluid or done anything related to the braking system? A bit more info about your car's recent maintenance or any additional symptoms could help further.
