Hey there, cheers for the information, really appreciate it! Sounds very much like the trouble my Picanto is giving me. This has given me a good starting point when I explain the issue at the garage. I was wondering if you remember approximately how much the repair cost you? Also, any other glitches pop up since you've had this sorted? Hoping my own ride will play nice once this is dealt with. Thanks a lot!

Hey dude, glad I could be of some help! As for the cost of the repair, it was in the ballpark of 360 €. I know it's a bit on the expensive side but given the amount of labor involved, I'd say it was reasonable. They had to do some substantial work, fixing that crankcase ventilation, but it did the trick. And since then, my Rio has been running like a charm, no other strange symptoms popping up, thank god! So, fingers crossed your Picanto behaves after the fix, too. Good luck at the garage! Keep us posted!

Hey, your insight here is invaluable! While the cost seems a bit steep, it certainly seems worth it in the long run - might hurt the pocket initially, but the peace of mind and smooth ride would make it a fair deal. Good to hear that no further glitches have troubled your Rio, hope my Picanto follows the same path. Will definitely keep you guys updated once everything is sorted. Thanks again for your help! Really appreciate your time!

Hey, sounds like you're having a rough time with that Picanto. Coincidentally, I had a similar issue with my 2013 Kia Rio not too long ago. Same kind of thing - jerking on acceleration and all the rest. Turned out it was indeed the crankcase ventilation that was the culprit. The ventilation system was completely clogged, causing a restriction in the air flow which eventually led to all these symptoms you're experiencing. The high pressure in the crankcase was causing the engine to struggle, hence the unstable idling and loss of engine power. It wasn't exactly a breeze to fix. Not as simple as an oil change or something. There was a good amount of labor involved. They had to remove some components to gain access, clean out the clogged ventilation system, and replace the crankcase ventilation valve. Not exactly something you'd want to be dealing with on a regular basis, but let's say it was more of a one-time mishap. Since they fixed it, my Rio's been running smooth and I haven't had any of the old symptoms resurface. Hope your experience turns out the same! Hang in there.
