Seeking Advice on Lighting Issues and Light Switch Malfunction in 2000 Kia Pride

Hey everyone, I'm having some trouble with my 2000 Kia Pride, a gasoline model with around 58,482 KM on the clock. Lately, I've been experiencing some lighting issues; the lights out of nowhere turn on and the light switch isn't working as it should. The last mechanic visit was quite disastrous, so I'm eager to avoid another unpleasant experience. Anyone who has been in a similar situation, how did you handle this problem? What was your experience at your mechanic like? Looking forward to your stories and advice. Cheers!

Hey! I reckon I understand your stress. I'd been through this same issue with my 2003 Kia Cerato, quite a mess. Turns out it was a bad plug connection causing all the havoc. I took my ride to this mechanic I trust, he dug into the problem like a detective and found the faulty connection. He had to dig deep into the car's wiring, and isolate the faulty connection. It wasn't as trivial as it sounds, but it wasn't some engine-fall-apart level issue either, you know? It was just a tedious problem that needed some serious attention to diagnose and fix. When my mechanic found it and replaced the plug, the problem got solved like magic, those unusual light shows got kicked out. So my advice, check your car for any poor wiring or loose connections a good mechanic should be able to solve it, no sweat. Take care!

Hey there you're a lifesaver! A bad plug connection doesn't sound too serious, yet it can be a real headache, as it seems. Guess I'll be hunting for an ace mechanic to sort this issue out. By the way, do you recall how much you shelled out for getting this fixed? And has anything else popped up related to this since it was sorted? Stay cool!

Hey! I'm thrilled my experience could chuck in some insights for ya! So, here's the deal - The mechanic billed me around 222.50 €. Bit salty for a faulty plug connection, but trust me, every cent was worth it for that peace of mind, know what I mean? And yep, since sorting that mess out, I haven't experienced any other lighting issues - it was all sorted when the mechanic fixed the dodgy connection. That pesky light switch works perfectly fine now, just as it should! Hope your Kia gets back on top form soon. Good luck! Catch ya on the flip side!

Hey! Thanks for getting back to me! I feel calm already knowing such sneaky issues can be solved. That price does seem a little steep, but like you said, for peace of mind, it's a decent trade-off. Gotta love when things end up working as they should. I'll let you all know how my Kia's quest ends. Fingers crossed for a smooth mechanic visit! Cheers!
