Seeking Advice on ABS Sensor Failure on 2021 Nissan Navara

Hey folks, I'm dealing with something funky on my 2021 Nissan Navara with a Gasoline engine. The ABS warning light is always on, the ABS/DSC system ain't working, the speedometer keeps warning me, and there's a stored fault. I'm suspecting a Wheel speed sensor (ABS sensor) failure but not fully convinced. Anyone here experienced something similar and got it fixed? Would appreciate any repair tips or feedback from your workshop experiences. Thanks!

Hey there! I have a 2019 Nissan Frontier, pretty much a cousin of your Navara. I'd classify myself as having low car experience - I'm certainly no mechanic, but I tinker around a bit. I had an eerily similar issue last year. Thought it was a sensor too, but it turned out the ABS control unit was defective. I took it to my local workshop, explained the symptoms, and they sorted it out. Cost me a pretty penny though, about 1000 Euro. Could you tell me if you've had any work done on the brakes or electrification recently? It might help in troubleshooting your problem. But, no two cars are the same, so I recommend getting it checked by a professional to be sure. Cheers!

Hey, appreciate the swift response! To answer your question, I haven't had anything done on the brakes or electrification recently. My trusty Navara has only racked up 18697 KM so far, with a service done just a few months ago. I'll make sure to get in touch with a mechanic and also mention the possibility of a defective ABS control unit; that seems like quite a valuable lead. Gosh, cars can be a pretty expensive hobby, can't they? Fingers crossed, it doesn't end up costing as much as yours did. Thanks for the advice!

Hey again! Sure sounds like you're taking good care of your Navara. Given it's nearly new condition and low mileage, it's a bit strange to be dealing with such issues. A faulty ABS control unit in a new model does seem odd, but, unfortunately, electronics can be unpredictable. But let me tell you, if it comes down to it, the cost I mentioned may seem a bit steep, but consider it a long-term investment. The ABS system is crucial for your safety and the vehicle's overall performance. It's one of those things you don't want to skimp on. If you're lucky, it could just be a glitch in the sensor or a minor problem with the wiring. Checking the fuse box might also be a good idea. In either case, a thorough checkup by a professional sounds like the way to go. It's a bit of a bummer, I know, but at least it's better to be safe than regret later on. Remember, don't stress out! Worse comes to worst, you'll have a well-oiled (and safe!) machine when it's all said and done. Keep us posted on what you find out. Cheers!

Hey, thanks for the reassurance! I 'spose you're right, always better to be safe than sorry, specially when it comes to something as important as the ABS system. And well, when you put it in terms of a long-term investment, it does make it seem a bit less daunting. I'll keep the fuse box and wiring in mind when I talk to the mechanic. Will let you guys know about the diagnosis once I get it checked out. Until then, fingers crossed it's just a minor glitch. Thanks for all the help, really puts a lot at ease! Cheers!
