Seeking Advice on 2016 Fiat Avventura's AC Blowing Warm Air - Potential Ambient Temp Sensor Issue

Hey! I need some help figuring out an issue with my 2016 Fiat Avventura running on gasoline. She's started blowing warm air from the AC and doesn't seem to be cooling or heating properly anymore. My guess is it might be an issue with the ambient temp sensor sending incorrect signals, but I could use some veteran advice to be sure. If anyone has experienced the same problem and can share their solutions or any related experience they had at the repair shop, it would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance, everyone!

Hey! I had a similar issue with my 2014 Fiat Punto, pretty much the same symptoms. Granted, I'm not much of a car guru, just some experience with my own vehicles and diagnosing common problems. Ended up being a faulty cable or plug connection from the sensor. Took it to my local workshop, they pinpointed the problem, managed to get it fixed for me. Set me back €95.0, but definitely worth every penny. Do you know if the sensor itself has been checked? Or if any dashboard warning lights have cropped up? Having some vehicle specifics from you could seriously help me point you in the right direction! Cheers!

Hey! Thanks for the quick reply and sharing your experience. No dashboard warning lights have shown up, but I haven't checked the sensor myself yet. My Avventura’s mileage is around 54156 KM, and the last service was a while ago. I guess it's time for me to roll up my sleeves and give it a look or maybe visit the local workshop soon. Cheers for the advice!

Absolutely, no worries at all! Yeah, it sounds like a good idea to check out the sensor, especially with that mileage. It's probably going to be a little bit painstaking, but a direct look can save a lot of guesswork. But do keep in mind, there might be no dashboard warning lights because not every AC issue triggers the check engine light. In my case, it did not pop up either. I recognized that the fault was not in the AC refrigerant (Freon) as it was blowing air just not cold enough. After the sensor fixing, the AC worked like a charm. But hey, I'm glad my previous experience could be of some help to you! It's these weird little kinks that make car ownership such a journey, right? Best of luck with the troubleshooting, and do let us know what you find out. Safe driving!

Thanks a ton! Your insights have been massively helpful. I know enough to check things like engine oil and tire pressure, but AC problems are a whole other ballpark for me. I'll be sure to keep in mind all that you've said when I inspect the AC and the sensor. Maybe it's even time for a trip to my mechanic or better yet an AC specialist. And don't worry, I'll keep everyone posted about what I find. Drive safe and again, cheers for all the advice!
