Hey there, That sounds pretty much like what's happening with my Equus. I'm really happy to know you got yours sorted out. Just out of curiosity, do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the new pump control unit plus the labor? And have you had any related troubles crop up since then? Thanks a million for your help!

Hey! it’s awesome to hear my experience helped you out a bit. Regarding the costs, if memory serves me right, I shelled out around 225 Euro to fix that pesky pump/control unit cable issue. It might sound steep, but trust me, it was worth every penny. Ever since I got the misbehaving cable taken care of, my ride's been running smooth as silk; no more overheating shockers or mysterious dash light shows. And speaking of troubleshooting, thankfully, the additional water pump limited function issue also got sorted out while they were under the hood. So far, fingers crossed, I haven’t had those problems crop up again. Hope you get your Equus back in tip-top shape soon. Cars, right? Gotta love 'em, despite the headaches they sometimes give us. Best of luck!

Hey! thanks for the reassurance. €225 EUR seems manageable considering the fact my beloved ride will be back up to speed. Plus, the peace of mind I'll get; feeling safer on the road is priceless. You've been a serious help seriously. I'm going to get it checked out soon. I'm hoping for an experience as smooth as yours turned out to be - and I'll make sure to keep an eye out for any additional issues that might be lurking. Hopefully, no more nasty surprises! Thanks and take care! Hope your Genesis keeps purring like a kitten! Here's to trouble-free driving... Cheers!

Hey! I've got a 2010 Hyundai Genesis and faced something similar a while back. My dash lit up like a Christmas tree and overheating was a constant worry. Just like your suspicion, it turned out my issue was with the pump control unit. It was failing, messed up the coolant circulation. The mechanic found out the cable connected to the pump unit was defective. They had to replace the whole pump/control unit due to the defect, as a single faulty component can impact the entire system. It's not just a bumpy ride we're talking about—ignoring it can even risk engine damage. No need to panic just yet, let a professional check it out. Hope everything turns out alright for you!
