Hey, thanks for sharing your experience! My S60 just clocked 36,261 KM km and has been serviced recently. I had the brake pads checked during the service, and they seemed okay then. So, I'm a bit confused about the warning light. But I understand better now, sometimes, it might be due to worn-out brakes. I will take your advice and get it checked again in the garage. Appreciate your help!

No worries! Good to know you had your brake pads checked recently. Something I learned the hard way - sometimes the brake wear isn't the deal with these Volvo cars, you know? The warning light in the speedometer could mean different things. Your S60 is rather low mileage for its age, so, other common culprits could be your ABS module or even a fault in the speed sensor. These things can trigger the warning light too. Given your S60's condition, I'd suggest making sure to communicate these possibilities to your mechanic when you get it checked out. Don't want you to shell out more on unnecessary fixes! Keep us posted on what you find out!

Solid advice there! I didn't consider the ABS module or a faulty speed sensor could be the issue earlier. I will take note of these possibilities and discuss them with my mechanic. I really appreciate your in-depth knowledge and helpful advice. As you said, wouldn't want to overspend on unnecessary fixes. I'll definitely keep you all updated on what I find out. Thanks a ton!

Hey there! So I have some experience with cars, and I faced a similar issue with my 2005 Volvo S80, just a different model you know. Took it to my go-to workshop, trusty guys. They discovered that my car's brakes were actually wearing out, which was causing the light to pop up on the dash. Ended up having to fork out about €480 to get that sorted, which was a bit of a bummer, but at least the alarm's gone now. If you've got any more details about your car's condition, I might be able to help further. Anyway, hope that helps and good luck with your S60!
