Seeking Advice for Frozen Spray Nozzles on 2012 Kia Picanto

Hey fellow car gurus! Need some advice. I've got a 2012 Kia Picanto, gasoline engine, sitting on around 99622 KM mileage. She's been great, but lately I'm noticing the spray nozzles seem to be frozen. Given a not-too-fun previous visit to the garage, I'm pretty keen to figure out if it could be a problem with the spray nozzle heater before I potentially have to see a mechanic again. Anyone experienced the same thing and got tips, or dealt with similar defect repairs? Appreciate your insights!

Hey! Had a similar issue with my 2010 KIA Sorento, so I reckon I've got relevant experience. The cable connection to my windshield spray nozzles went rogue, not exactly the same, but might give you a clue. Just like your Picanto, my Sorento windshield sprayers started acting up, nearly wrote them off as frozen as well. Turned out it was the cable connection that had loosened up over time. The issue wasn't too serious in my case, more of an inconvenience really. So, reckon we ought to check a few things before jumping to conclusions. Could be your hunch about the spray heater, though I'd first check that spray nozzle cable connection for any deficiencies before rushing to the garage. Cheers!

Hey there, Thanks for the solid advice, I’d never have thought about the cable connection! That's definitely something I’ll be looking into soon. Out of curiosity, do you remember how much you forked out for sorting it all out? Also, how's your Sorento been treating you since then? Any more surprises I should brace myself for? Cheers!

Hey again, Of course, happy to share! Getting the cable connection sorted out set me back about 95€. Since then, it's been smooth sailing, no more hassle with the windshield sprayers! As for my Sorento, she's been pretty solid since having that problem. Interestingly, I did go ahead and have the spray nozzle heater looked over by my mechanic when I had the cable issue fixed. Turned out there was indeed a defect with the heater too, which theyaged to sort out. So your hunch about the spray nozzle heater was spot-on! Hope that helps, and fingers crossed your Picanto will be back at her best soon! Cheers!

Hey! Awesome, that's super helpful info. It's mostly the uncertainty if there's more to it that'd hit my wallet hard! Your 95€ ballpark figure gives me a sigh of relief though. And great intuition on getting the heater checked, it sounds essential to fix both elements! I'll take your advice on board and get on top of this Picanto problem. Fingers crossed she'll be squirting washer fluid like a champ again soon. Thanks again for the tips and for sharing your Sorento experience, much appreciated! Take it easy!
