Hey, thanks for the helpful advice! My Leon already has 234567 km on the clock and was recently serviced. The performance has dropped considerably recently and the black smoke has also become more intense. I had already suspected that the DPF might be defective. However, your experience now gives me a little hope that it might not be as bad as I feared. I will probably have to pay a visit to the workshop. Let's see what they think. Thanks again for your insight!

Hi, yes, that's pretty much what I experienced on my Ibiza when I had similar symptoms. The mileage is quite high and that does suggest that the DPF could be heavily loaded. The worst thing is not knowing what's going on, right? But I wouldn't panic too much. At my garage they also told me that this failure of the DPF on run-up diesels is a thing that can unfortunately happen. It's annoying and a bit expensive, but everything should be fine afterwards. If you have a good mechanic or a reliable garage, I would have it checked out there. My recommendation is that you give preference to the Bilstein products because of their quality and durability if you have to change the partial filter. Good luck and let us know what they say at the garage.

Hello, your advice definitely gives me a reassuring feeling. It's always good to hear that you're not alone with such problems. I will follow your tips and visit my trusted garage. Let's see what they say and whether the DPF really needs to be replaced. I'll keep Bilstein products in mind, thanks for the tip! I hope the whole thing won't be too expensive... I'll keep you posted and let you know what comes of it. Thanks again for your support, it really means a lot to me!

Hello, Have you ever tried to start a manual regeneration? This could possibly work before you need a completely new DPF.

Hi, yes, I had the same thing happen to my 2013 Seat Ibiza - a similar model. I would say I have a low to medium level of experience when it comes to car repairs, but for something bigger like this I trusted my garage. In my case it was like yours, the diesel particulate due to the high mileage was faulty. It cost me 1550 euros, but since then it has been running like clockwork again and the black smoke has completely disappeared. Could you please give me more information about your car, e.g. what is its exact condition and how many kilometers have you already driven? This could help me to give you better advice. Good luck and let me know if you have any further questions!
