Thank you for sharing your experience. You mentioned everything about the repair process but I am really curious about the total repair cost you paid. Mine has similar issues where the ambient noise seems to interfere with the audio input system. Sound quality is terrible during calls though music plays perfectly. Did any other problems surface after the mic module replacement? My main concern is making sure this fixes the issue completely without leading to additional repairs down the line. Would be great to know the rough cost to budget for this repair. The dealership quoted me a pretty high price so looking for comparison.

Thanks for asking about the costs. I got the work done last week and the voice recognition system is working perfectly now. The total repair came to 815 Euro which included replacing the faulty microphone module and recalibrating the entire infotainment system. The speech recognition and hands-free calling are both back to normal with no ambient noise issues. Sound quality during calls is crystal clear now and the Bluetooth connection works flawlessly for both music and phone functions. No additional problems have come up since the repair. The technician mentioned this is a known issue that rarely reoccurs once properly fixed. The microphone repair was comprehensive and included testing all voice command functions to ensure everything integrated correctly. While 815 Euro might seem steep, getting the complete fix from a qualified shop means you wont need follow-up repairs. They had to use specialized diagnostic equipment to properly code the new module to the vehicle, which explains part of the cost. The investment was worth it since the system now works like new. Voice commands are recognized instantly and call clarity is back to factory specifications.

I finally got my car back from the mechanic yesterday after dealing with the voice recognition problems. Ended up paying 780 Euro for the complete microphone repair and system recalibration. The speech recognition works perfectly now, what a relief. The ambient noise issue that was making calls impossible is completely gone. My voice commands are being picked up clearly and the audio system responds immediately. Really glad I went ahead with the repair despite the initial sticker shock. The mechanic showed me the old microphone module which was clearly damaged. They ran full diagnostics before and after the replacement to make sure everything was properly integrated. Kind of interesting to see how complex these modern audio systems are. After dealing with garbled calls for weeks, its amazing to have crystal clear sound again. Definitely worth getting it fixed properly rather than trying cheaper alternatives that might not last. No other issues have shown up since the repair, so feeling confident about the fix. Thanks for helping me understand what I was dealing with. Saved me from getting overcharged at the dealership while still getting quality work done.

Had the same problem on my 2020 Audi RS3. The wireless connection and voice recognition system completely failed while the Bluetooth audio stayed functional. The root cause was a faulty microphone module in the overhead console, which affects both speech recognition and hands-free calling capabilities. The sound quality for incoming calls was non-existent even though music streaming worked normally. The repair involved replacing the complete microphone unit and recalibrating the MMI system. While not a complex fix, it required specialized diagnostic equipment to properly integrate the new module with the car's infotainment system. Volume control and basic functions remained working throughout. This wasnt a major mechanical issue but definitely needed professional attention since it involves the cars internal communication network. The replacement part had to be coded to the vehicle specifically. A proper repair shop will first run full diagnostics to confirm its the mic module rather than just a software glitch. Worth getting it fixed properly to restore full functionality of the voice commands and calling features.
