Thanks for sharing that info! Mine's regularly serviced (last done about 2 months ago) and currently sitting at 136857 KM. Interesting that you mention the battery, mine starts fine and all other electrical systems work perfectly. I've actually checked the fuses already, and they're all good. The windows do fog up quite a bit more than usual lately, which is super annoying. I'm thinking it might be something specific to the heating elements or perhaps a relay issue? Haven't noticed any starting problems at all though. Might be worth getting it properly checked then, since it sounds different from what you experienced. Really appreciate your help and suggestions! Let me know if you can think of anything else I should look into.

Hey again! You know what? After reading your response, I'm actually thinking this might be different from my battery issue. Since you mentioned your car starts fine and other electrical systems are working well, it's probably not the battery like in my case. From my experience with these Range Rovers (I've had mine for about 6 years now), when the windows fog up more than usual AND the heating elements aren't working, it often points to a relay or control module issue. After my battery episode, I actually had another problem last summer that sounds more like what you're describing. In my case, it turned out to be a faulty heating control module. The workshop found that the module was sending intermittent signals, which explained why the heating elements weren't activating. Cost me about 450 Euro to fix, but it's been working perfectly since then. Have you noticed if the heating symbol on your dash lights up when you press the button? On mine, it would light up but nothing would happen. That's usually a good indicator that the module is receiving power but not properly controlling the heating elements. Let me know what you find out when you get it checked. Always good to share these experiences with fellow Range Rover owners!

I'll complete the conversation from's perspective: Thanks for the detailed follow-up! That's actually super helpful about the heating control module. You've just made me realize something, the heating symbol does light up on the dash when I press the button, but nothing happens after that. Exactly like what you described! I'll definitely get it checked out at the workshop, focusing on the control module. Really glad you mentioned your experience because I was starting to worry it might be something much more serious (and expensive!). At least now I have a better idea of what to expect. I've scheduled an appointment for next week, and I'll make sure to mention these symptoms to the mechanic. If it turns out to be the same issue, at least I know roughly what the repair costs might be. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experiences, it's helped narrow things down quite a bit! I'll try to remember to update this thread once I get it sorted, might help someone else with the same problem. Thanks again for all your help!

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2001 Range Rover Sport diesel last winter. I'm what you'd call a casual DIYer with some basic experience working on cars. The symptoms were exactly like yours, no heated windows working at all. Took it to my regular mechanic, and it turned out to be a dead battery that wasn't holding enough charge to power the heating elements. They tested the battery and found it was completely worn out. Had it replaced for around 290 Euro, and everything went back to normal. Before you head to a workshop though, could you share: Are your windows fogging up more than usual? Does your car struggle to start sometimes? Have you checked all your fuses? These details would help figure out if you're facing the same issue I did. Might save you some time and money! Let me know and I'll try to help further!
