And you're right, there are other symptoms too. The car pulls to the right and I have the impression that the fuel consumption is unnaturally high. My Rifter now has 150246 KM on it, and the last inspection was a few months ago. Of course I had the car taken to the garage, but they couldn't find anything right away... really, really stupid!
