Hey, thanks for the tip! Yes, I've connected the diagnostic unit and it shows a fault in the intake air system. So it could well be the wiring harness/plug. My Golf already has 218783 km on the clock and was last serviced about 5000 km ago. I'll talk to the garage about the wiring harness. Maybe that's what it is. Thanks again!

Yes, that sounds very much like the same problem I had with my Polo. With the mileage, the wiring harness might actually have suffered a bit. Replacing it could definitely help. Wish you good luck at the garage, and let us know if that's it. All the best!

Hey, thanks for the good wishes. I also hope that it's just the wiring harness and that the repair won't be too expensive. I'll definitely get back to you when I know more. Rarely have I experienced such a helpful community - really great! See you then, and thanks again!

Hi, I have had a similar experience with my 2008 VW Polo Diesel. I only have a little experience with cars, so I went straight to my garage. In my case, the wiring harness/connector was defective, so the sensor was sending incorrect values to the control unit. The repair cost me 95 euros. Have you already connected the diagnostic device and read out the error? This could help to find out exactly what is wrong. Could you please provide more details about your vehicle? Replacing the wiring harness/plug helped me back then. Maybe that's what it is for you too.
