Hello, thanks for the quick reply! My Auris has 127516 KM on the clock and the last service was around 10,000 KM ago. I will follow your advice and take the car to the garage to have the DPF checked. 1550 euros is a lot of money, but if it solves the problem, it would probably be worth it. Thanks again for the help!

Hey, no problem, I'm glad I could help you with my experience. The number of kilometers is a good indication of the service life of a DPF. They can normally last up to 120000 km, but that depends on how often the regeneration takes place and how the car is driven. In the long run, it will probably be best to change the DPF to avoid further damage or loss of performance. Good luck at the garage and let's hope it's nothing more serious! Please let us know what the mechanic says. Have a safe journey!

Hi, thanks for your valuable advice. It makes sense that the DPF may have reached the end of its life. I'll definitely keep you posted and also hope it's nothing more serious. I'm a bit reassured now. Thanks again for your help, really kind of you! See you soon!

Hi, I'm not an expert in the automotive sector, but I have had similar experiences with my Toyota Yaris (built in 2014, diesel). The problem was also a defective diesel particulate filter (DPF internally defective). I took it to my garage as I have little experience with car repairs. They replaced the DPF and unfortunately it cost 1550 euros. It's like new again and runs perfectly. To give you more details, it would be helpful if you could tell me more about your vehicle, especially regarding mileage and last service. Hope this helps you!
