Problems with the gearbox and warning light in the Seat Leon Diesel 2019: experiences and solutions

Hey sports fans, I'm currently experiencing a strange problem with my 2019 Seat Leon Diesel. The car no longer drives like it used to. The gears are slipping, the gear change seems random, there is a grinding noise when changing gears and a warning light in the speedometer also lights up. I think it may be the transmission oil temperature sensor, but I'm not sure. Have you ever had similar problems? How did you get it solved at the garage? What experiences have you had? I would be grateful for any tips!

Hello, I had a similar problem with my 2017 Seat Ibiza. I only have a mediocre knowledge of cars, so I went to my garage. It turned out that the gearbox control unit was faulty. I don't know why it broke, but it cost me 1000 euros to fix it. Have you ever read out the fault memory or do you know the exact fault code? Maybe then I can help you even better.

Hey, thanks for your answer. I haven't had any fault codes read out. But it's good to know that it could be the transmission control unit. I'll go to the garage as soon as possible and have the fault memory read out. By the way, my Leon has already done 25930 km and the last service wasn't too long ago either. Hopefully it's nothing major. Thanks again for your tip.

Hey, no problem, gladly. It's always good to have the fault codes read out to find out exactly what the problem is. The Seat Leon and the Seat Ibiza are quite similar, so it's quite possible that you have something similar due to the same problem description. Fortunately, I still had insurance on mine that covered the costs. Definitely take it to the garage soon, this kind of problem won't just go away on its own and could even lead to bigger, more expensive damage in a pinch. Hopefully it's nothing too serious. Your mileage is not yet high enough to be associated with major problems. In any case, good luck and give us an update when you know more!

Hey, thanks for the support! Really good to know. I'll make sure I go to the garage ASAP. Your advice to act in time and avoid further damage is very valuable. I was hoping the mileage wasn't too alarming yet in my case, but you can never be too careful. I'll definitely give an update as soon as I know more. Fingers crossed that it's nothing serious. Thanks again for your help!
