Problems with electrical faults and weak battery in Peugeot 408 Diesel from 2010

Hi guys, I have a problem with my 2010 Peugeot 408 diesel at the moment and could do with a bit of help! It's showing general electrical faults, memory errors, lights are dim or flickering and the battery is low when starting. I have a suspicion that it may be due to terminal 30 being disconnected. Have any of you had experience with this type of problem and could give me some advice? I would be particularly interested to know how your garage solved the problem. Any help is welcome. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2008 Peugeot 406 diesel. I have little experience with cars so I went to my garage and they diagnosed that the battery sensor was faulty. The repair cost me 315 euros. It could be that you have a similar problem. To help you better, could you please share the exact model name and any symptoms you have noticed? It might also be helpful to know if you have done any repairs or modifications to your Peugeot recently. Hope this helps!

Hey, thanks for your answer. My Cap is a 408 and has almost 49,000 kilometers on it so far. I did have the last service at 48,753 KM, but as far as I know, only the oil was changed then. No further changes or repairs since then. In addition to the aforementioned electrical problems, the car sometimes misfires and it often smells of burnt rubber. I think I should probably go to the garage and have the battery sensor checked. Thanks again for the tip!

Yes, based on your experience and the symptoms you have described, it could definitely be a faulty battery sensor. This can cause the battery to not charge properly, causing problems with starting the engine and general electrical faults. The smell of burnt rubber could indicate a problem with the belts or a pump. It would probably be best to have a specialist look over it. I hope this helps and I'll keep my fingers crossed that it's nothing more serious. Let us know what comes out of it. All the best!

Hi, your answer definitely makes sense and it's good to know that the problem is probably due to the battery sensor. The smell of burnt rubber worries me though, so I will definitely visit the garage and have it all checked out. I'll keep you posted on what comes out of it. Thank you very much for your help and for keeping your fingers crossed, I really need that right now! All the best to you too!
